Week 13 of MILB action is complete. After a week that saw a lot of prospects added, there's some new intrigue to the minor league season the rest of the way. Most of the new prospects will join their teams in the upcoming week.
AAA - Iowa Cubs
The Iowa Cubs split their series vs Louisville, and are now 32-43. As an added bonus, Pronk is going to be there this upcoming weekend vs. Indianapolis, August 6-8.
Abiatal Avelino hit two homers and led the team with 6 hits for the week.
Justin Steele had 5 shutout innings.
Keegan Thompson had 3 shutout innings in his start.
AA - Tennessee Smokies
Tennessee won their series against Chattanooga, and improve to 33-40
Luis Lugo gave up just 1 run in his 5 inning start, continuing to look good.
Cam Sanders had a 3 ER in 6 IP start, but struck out 9.
Delvin Zinn got promoted. He had 3 hits in 5 at bats, but got caught stealing in his only try.
Brennen Davis cooled off a little, not hitting a homer this week (first time in a while). He still went 4-16 with 3 walks and just 2 strikeouts.
High-A - South Bend Cubs
The South Bend Cubs are now 33-44 after dropping their series in the Quad Cities.
Ryan Jensen had a nice 5 inning start. He allowed one run on a solo homer, but then struck out 10 in just 5 innings.
Ryan Reynolds had a nice 4 hits in PAs to have a hot week.
Edmond Americaan had 3 hits in 8 trues
Jake Slaughter drove in 5 over the course of a week. No homers, just 9 hits in 23 tries.
Levi Jordan had a 2 dinger week, and led the 4 with 4 RBIs
Low-A - Myrtle Beach Pelicans
Myrtle beach split their series in Augusta. They are now 36-42
Matt Mervis, Jordan Nwogu and Matt Warkentin each had 2 dinger weeks.
Ed Howard had a rough week, striking out 9 times in 16 ABs.
DJ Herz had a nice 5 inning start. He gave up just 2 hits (1 HR), walked none and struck out 9.
Dannis Correa had 2 relief appearances, pitching 4 innings and giving up just 1 hit while striking out 8.
